Privacy Policy

What we collect

Nothing. BUTLER does not collect, transmit, sell, share or receive any personal information. There is no sign-up, no login, no telemetry, no crash reporting service, no advertising identifier and no analytics SDK.

The app makes no network requests of its own. It works with the device in aeroplane mode.

What you store, and where it lives

Everything you type into BUTLER — household and family details, bills, appointments, tasks, reminders, shopping and pantry records, care routines and their logs, medication references and dose logs, documents, and the household history — is written to the app’s private storage on your device (IndexedDB inside the app’s own sandbox, plus a small number of preferences).

That storage is only reachable by BUTLER. It is removed when you uninstall the app, and it can be cleared from inside the app at any time via Settings → Erase everything on this device.

Health and medical information

BUTLER lets you record care routines and medication references. That information is:

• entered by you, from a source you already have — a prescription label, a pharmacy printout, a clinician’s written instructions, a care plan;
• stored on your device only;
• never transmitted anywhere;
• never interpreted by the app. BUTLER does not diagnose, does not calculate or suggest a dose, and does not generate care steps. It stores what you wrote and shows it back unchanged.

BUTLER is not a medical device and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified clinician.

When information leaves the device

Only when you make it happen, and only to where you send it:

• Back up writes a file containing your records. You choose where it goes — the share sheet, an email, your downloads folder. Once it leaves the app it is governed by whatever service you handed it to, not by us.
• Calendar export (.ics) writes appointments and unpaid bills to a calendar file. Notes, appointment prep lists, care routines and medications are deliberately excluded from that file.
• Reminder notifications are scheduled by the Android system on your device. The reminder text is passed to Android to display at the right time; it is not sent over a network.

Permissions the app requests

Permission	Why
POST_NOTIFICATIONS	To show reminders you have set, including care-critical reminders that repeat until acknowledged.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, WAKE_LOCK	So scheduled reminders survive a restart and can wake the device to display at the right time.
INTERNET	Declared by the app framework. BUTLER makes no network requests; you can verify this by using the app with no connection.

BUTLER does not request access to your contacts, location, microphone, calendar or files.

Children

BUTLER is designed for a parent or caregiver to use. It is not directed at children and is not intended to be used by them. It records information about family members, including children, at the discretion of the adult using it — and that information stays on that adult’s device.

Payment

BUTLER is a paid app. Your purchase is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your payment details. Refunds are handled under Google Play’s policies.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of BUTLER ever transmits data — it does not today, and there are no plans for it to — this policy will be updated before that version is published, and the change will be described in the release notes.
